What is a fanlisting? According to TFL.org, 'A fanlisting is simply an online listing of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. There are no costs, and the only requirements to join a fanlisting are your name and country. Fanlistings do not have to be large sites (although some are) - they are just a place where you can have your name listed along with other fans of the same subject. TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans.'

the sight

The SightIt is an icy night in the country that long ago was well known as Transylvania. The wintry ground crackles as a hunter's paw breaks the hard earth. The wolf pauses, her breath like smoke in the cold air, then a howl pierces the night. But it is in her eyes, not her howl, that speaks of danger.

Beware of the Sight.

In the shadow of the Carpathian mountains, a pack of wolves seeks shelter from the vicious winter. A legend clings to them - a story of man and wolf, of power and death. The Sight has come into their world. They will never be the same again...

---

Clement-Davies's second novel, The Sight, was set in Transylvania, much darker territory than ancient Scotland, where Fire Bringer took place. The Sight is about a pack of wolves which is seeking shelter from the terrible forecoming winter near an old, abandoned castle. Palla, the she-wolf of the pack, is about to give birth to a litter, but the pack is hunted. Not by their worst, ancient enemy, Man, but by the Varg, fellow wolves as they call themselves in the book. A lone wolf named Morgra hunts them, accompanied by a raven. Morgra, Palla's own sister, knows that one of the two wolves born beneath the castle that fateful night will be a powerful wolf, and a great threat to her, even though she possesses the Sight. This white wolf, Larka, also has the Sight. Others also hunt the pack, including a rebel group of Varg led by Slavka the she-wolf, who has sworn to destroy all those in possession of the power of the Sight. Shall Larka and her brother Fell survive, for so many enemies seek to kill them?

Note: The Sight was inspired from Clement-Davies travel to Romania in winter, 1990, where he learned of superstitious tales and local folklore (like Dracula).

david clement-davies

David Clement-Davies is the author of the animal fantasy books The Sight and Fire Bringer. Clement-Davies was born in 1964 and went to college at a Scottish university before going on to drama school in London. While in London, Clement-Davies couldn't make the cut as an actor, so he did some odd jobs to make a temporary living. Some of his strangest jobs included being a leaf raker and even a packer at an underwear factory! Soon he became a travel writer. His first highly acclaimed novel, Fire Bringer was a huge success. Clement-Davies lives in a little mountain home in Spain (the region of Andalucia) for much of the year.
